I was in the mood to draw, and ended up with the first ever drawing of two almost-new OCs, twins Edith (Edie) and Sidney Mulligan.

They're about seven or eight here, if you were wondering. They're part of an upcoming project of mine, where they start out at eleven. So they have some time to wait. And so do you. *dramatic music* :mwahaha:

I love them both to bits, BTW.

AND YAY FOR PREMIUM MEMBERSHIPS! :la: I can now request critiques!

((A note to anyone giving a critique: please excuse the marks on the paper itself, and the fact that I almost drew Edie's arm right through poor Sidney's hand. I'm very aware of those problems. >.<))

Okay, I've never WRITTEN a critique, so here goes:
For using colored pencils: In the hair, and skin, especially, it helps to use more than just the "objective" color (as in the color of the object. Like brown for the hair.). To really get the maximum capacity out of colored pencils, I find that it really helps to layer them up. It makes it richer, and less white shows through from the paper. For the hair, you could lay down some yellowy-gold-orange, since some (not all, I suppose) brown hair has a gold-ish highlight/tint to it.
My second lil chunk o' advice would be to use other colors for shading. Instead of just filling the faces with "Peach" and then pressing harder to create shadows, I would use some of the tan browns, and then maybe even (I am not kidding) some purples (lightly) where the shadows would be. And then use the peach for the regular skin tone, but maybe leave the lighter parts of the face white (or really close to it).
Overall? I think the picture is cute, and I think it has the sweet, loving emotion you wanted it to have. The characters are well "exposed" (their personalities show, I mean). It's a lovely drawing <img src="e.deviantart.net/emoticons/b/b…" width="15" height="15" alt=":D" title=":D (Big Grin)"/>
*whew, I made it!*
